Chris’s career can be divided into two sections, before and after “The Renovations”. Prior to renovating his first house Chris was the Field Operations Manager with Morton Hire in Sydney. He was responsible for a team of up to 20 field Operations staff, so has excellent organisational and time management skills, the ability to successfully manage a team, is an effective negotiator and really understands the importance of excellent customer service.
An interest in renovating saw Chris and his partner purchase their first house in southern NSW. After six years of renovating on weekends, a decision was made by Chris to pursue this as a full time career. Involved in all aspects of renovating from demolition to rebuild, this project became a total refit, from wiring, to plumbing, plastering, painting, roofing, tiling and carpentry.
The successful completion of their first project provided the foundation to embark on a bigger project. A mid 1800’s former Parsonage that was in a very derelict state. Built in the colonial style, this solid brick home provided some new challenges from rising damp, termites, rotten floors and a leaking roof. After twelve months of full time renovating this house was restored to its former glory.
After moving to the Northern Rivers in 2010 Chris established FixUp Home Maintenance and obtained his Carpentry and Fencing licences. Over the years Chris has established a strong client following, renowned for his punctuality and attention to detail, Chris is booked weeks in advance.
