“I don’t recall how I came by Chris’s name but he was one of three quotes I got when I planned to renovate my house at Bangalow.
His quote was thorough and clear so I (a little nervously) went with him.
As I live in Sydney I needed to organise the job in the most part remotely – obviously this is not ideal in terms of managing things. Trust was vital.
From the moment I met and discussed the job with Chris I felt at ease with his approach. He suggested things where he though there was a better way and was clear about what he could do and
what I would need to organise. He was very helpful in recommending tradies he was confident about.
As the job progressed I found Chris to be wonderful. He was happy to work alone or have me hang around when I was in town. I shopped for a lot of the
materials and he was always helpful in a low key way for example he would go out of his way to pick
things up.
He was diplomatic with other people on the job. He was conscious of my (tight) timeframes and looked for every way to schedule things effectively.
Some things unrelated to Chris did go wrong – the floor was rotten and needed to be taken out and replaced. Although this was unforeseen Chris took it in his stride, discussed the options and updated the quote. There was no hint of costs being inflated for the unexpected additional work and materials. In fact, although Chris found it inconvenient from the point of view of other work commitments, he was genuine in his commiserations! I felt he definitely had my best interests at heart. I really felt my great trust in him to be well placed.
I was very happy with the finished job but I was most happy with how it had been done. I really feel I made a friend.
I would recommend Chris to anyone anytime.
He is an all-round skilful builder and person.”
